Buffalo Indie Fest v1.0
What is this thing? The idea behind the indie fest is to showcase the great independent musical talent we have here in Buffalo, and the idea of independent music in general. Each quarter, the showcase is put together to feature non-stop music all night on rotating stages from some of Buffalo's best bands that are genuine road warriors, releasing cd's themselves or through small labels and supporting the DIY ethic. We have no large organization to back us up and rely on YOU, the audience, to make this event successful.
In addition to the Buffalo bands on the bill, there will always be one special guest from another part of the globe, to highlight the fact that not only are Buffalo bands getting out there, but many bands consider Buffalo a great music town worthy of a tour stop.
Version 1.0 is a long time in the making. Getting a bunch of touring bands in Buffalo all at the same time is no simple feat. We hope you'll join us!

The bands...
LoveLikeFire Special guests from San Francisco, California
"If this were the U.K., the British press would be argy-bargying over bragging rights for discovering this irresistible foursome from San Francisco. The band provide the surge to songs that engulf and heave you like a raging ocean." - LA Weekly
Red Tag Rummage Sale
They have a bio, and it's going to go right here as soon as we have it.
La Cacahouette
"It’s altogether too sonically heavy for the average person, which means it’ll probably be an overlooked gem that inspires some of the future’s creative geniuses and eventually earns its rightful title as a cult classic. Rather than wait for that to happen, listen to it now and remember why you gave a damn about music in the first place. " - Nuvo.net
A Hotel Nourishing
"Just when you think you’ve seen everything that guitar and drums can do, you see Sonny Baker and Cameron Rogers and you change your mind. A Hotel Nourishing manages to smoothly blend an incongruent mixture of post-punk, math rock, jazz, prog rock, and beyond to maximum effect. Think Fugazi meets Frank Zappa. Joy Divison meets John Coltrane." - donny kutzbach, Artvoice
Needle Up!
Described by critics as "indie post-punk dance disco rock", the threesome based in Buffalo had a short run in 2004 before parting ways. Back together since 2007, they have been touring and recording ever since. The band counts among their fans Bitch (Bitch & Animal) who describes them as her "new favorite band" and Kaia Wilson (The Butchies, Team Dresch) proclaimed that they were a new band to see.
Brian Wheat
Alt.country songsmith Brian Wheat was named “Best Solo Artist” by Buffalo Spree magazine in 2007. His finely-crafted songs and evocative delivery have garnered him supporting positions for some of today’s most exciting national and international acoustic artists, including Mark Kozelek (Red House Painters/Sun Kil Moon), Hamell on Trial (Righteous Babe Records), and David Dondero (Team Love).
